I'm so jealous of people with an arts & crafts side. I'd love to say I have uber cute scrapbooks and I crochet or knit such cute little things, but, alas, I don't. Thank goodness there are people out there who do! And etsy lets them share all of this fun stuff with us! My friend L, is quite talented in all of the above. She's recently opened her own etsy store, Cutesy Crochet and Paper Crafts. She makes adorable crochet headbands and hats for little girls, earrings, potholders, and even headbands! And she has a crafty side outside of the crochet, making birdhouses, home decor, and the list goes on.Want to get your hands on one of these items for yourself or a special little lady in your life? Me and my boys
Tuesdays are my favorite day. Jordan's "weekend" is Monday and Tuesday, and I work Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, so Tuesday is our day together. We usually spend the day doing a little housework, running some errands, and just hanging out as a family. I love having no agenda, getting up and just hanging out in our pjs, and eating breakfast without having to rush out the door. I do hate that Jordan has to work both days on the real weekend. My parents have a pool, and now that the weather is warmer (ok, HOT), we've gone over there a couple of times to hang out. I really didn't want Jordan to miss Hampton's first time in the pool, so he's played in his exersaucer and baby pool each time but never gone in the pool. Yesterday, we went over there and played in the pool together for a little while. And Hampton loved it! I know Jordan feels like he's missing so much when he's at work, and I'm so thankful we were able to have a nice day where my boys could share this memory. Now we're ready for the beach!!

8 months!
This month's moments to remember:
- 3 teeth! The 2 bottoms came in about a week and a half ago, and the top left one finally popped through (barely) this weekend. Teething has not been a fun time for any of us, but this top tooth has been a real booger. I hate that it's been so painful for H, and I hope the next one isn't as bad.
- Hampton seems to have no real desire to get his knees up under him and actually crawl. His army crawl gets him where he needs to go, and fast, so he seems content!
- Last weekend, he learned to get himself into the sitting position on his own.
- This weekend, he learned to pull himself up to stand. Jordan witnessed this new trick for the first time at 4:30 am on Saturday. I guess he just needed to show off!
- Hampton loves to babble all the time. He is seriously talking all the time! His only real word that he uses consistently is "dada." "Mama" and "bye" were a one time occurrence.
- He's trying lots of different foods now, but still is not a fan of anything green. I keep trying, though!
- He LOVES to drink ice water out of a real cup. And to stick his chubby little hands in the glass, play with the ice, and giggle. Adorable.
- He's lazy. Seriously. He refuses to hold a bottle or sippy cup. If he does give in and hold it, he won't lift it up in order to get anything out.
- He gives the best hugs and kisses. Period. You come out on the other side with a soaking wet face, but they're still the best. :)
- "The squirmer" should be his middle name. He loves to be held, but when he is ready to get down, you better be prepared. He will leap out of your arms, crawl up your body and over your shoulder, or fling himself backwards to let you know!

the b!tch is back
Yep, aunt flow has invaded my life once again. Actually, for the second time since giving birth, she's back. I don't know if it is due to pregnancy or just my body changing as I get older, but it is AWFUL. Seriously, like a war zone. I have always considered myself fortunate for never really having cramps, but now that has changed. They are so bad I thought I was going to throw up a couple of times earlier this week. Yuck.
Ok, vent over.
Getting back to "normal" has hit me kind of hard. It's not that I necessarily want to be pregnant again right now, but the sinking feeling of AF arriving is just haunting. Now, each month that passes by, it is just a reminder of what we will (most likely) have to do in order to grow our family. I've always wanted to have children fairly close together in age, but I've come to realize that this will most likely not be the case. It's not fair. I know that sounds so whiny and childish, but what else is there to say, really?
Jordan cracks me up, though! I told him last night that AF was here, and he said, "Oh, so are you going to go and pick up some of those tests?" (talking about ovulation predictor kits) Oh dear sweet husband who rarely gets up in the middle of the night when the baby wakes up, who gets back in bed after fixing the baby's breakfast, who still can't seem to locate the dirty laundry hamper or dishwasher without explicit directions, and who hands the baby over when he gets too fussy to handle, NO. I do not want to go buy OPKs. Thanks so much for asking! :P

Rough Night
Last night was the worst so far. When I put his pjs on at 7:00, he had a fever of 100.5. I had given him some Tylenol at 4:30, so I couldn't give any more right then, but he got it at 8:30 with his bedtime bottle (and some teething tablets). He didn't go to sleep until almost 9:45, and tossed and turned, making pitiful noises for about an hour. I was woken up around 12:30 with a shriek from the nursery. Ok, this happened with the bottom teeth, so I did what I did then--went and scooped him up and put him in bed with us, where I thought he would be content for the rest of the night. WRONG! He slept off and on until about 3:30, when he decided he needed to crawl around and explore the bed. So, trying not to disturb my oh-so-peacefully-sleeping hubby, I grabbed the baby, went and did a quick diaper change and, after another couple of teething tablets, settled into the rocker. Hampton was so exhausted, but man did he fight going to sleep. He wiggled and squirmed and climbed up me, but I finally got him to calm down just rock. I sat and held my whimpering baby, not knowing what to do to help him feel better until he fell asleep nearly 45 minutes later. I got up oh so slowly, crept to the nursery, and gently laid him down, where he instantly popped his eyes open and let out a wail. I patted his back for a couple of minutes until he was calm again, gave him a stuffed animal to love on, and left the room saying a little prayer that God would let him just fall asleep on his own...and I didn't hear a peep out of him until about 6:30. Whew, it makes me tired just thinking about it!
And here I sit, typing one-handed, with a droopy eyed baby snuggling into my chest, desperately needing a nap. He feels pretty warm again, and he is not content unless he is being held. :( This going to be a long day. And I'm dreading the idea of doing it again tonight.
Please just poke through, tooth. Like, now.

Not too exciting, but it is pretty! I snapped this picture last Labor Day weekend as we headed out to the beach to take some pictures of me, the hubs, and the baby belly! Here's one of my favorites from there:
