1 year ago today...The sweet baby that is now being "knit together in my womb" was created--in a dish!! I find it mind blowing to be just under 11 weeks pregnant with this miracle. I try to educate as many people as I can about what IVF is, but honestly, as much as I know now, I still can't wrap my mind around the science. It is simply a miracle. And my God is the only reason that this amazing procedure can be done by the talented doctors and embryologists that He hand-picked. We are so thankful!

One of these embryos is our baby!

I can't wait to hold this precious gift in my arms!!

Released from the RE...and other ramblings

Well folks, you heard it here first: My baby is going to be a gymnast, or an acrobat, or...well...hyperactive ;). The instant Dr. L started the u/s, we saw the top picture of our little monkey just chilling out and a nice strong heartbeat (168 bpm). Then, we saw a little wiggle and a wave hello to mommy and daddy. Then monkey started showing off and flipping all around. By the time we were done, the head was on the left and the butt was on the right--completely opposite of the first picture we got! Dr. L was laughing with us and made a comment about what an active baby we had. I think that's a good thing!

The scanned u/s doesn't look all that great, but it is a big week for our growing baby! Monkey is no longer an embryo, but a fetus. And is starting to look like a human...maybe mom will stop calling it butter bean now!

We have officially graduated from the RE. Time to move on to the obgyn. Of course, I am so excited to be released b/c that only means one thing...I have a baby growing inside me!! But, it was so bittersweet. It is a pretty small practice, so I've grown to love my Dr. and my 2 nurses over the past couple of years (years-yuck!). Everyone had tears in their eyes as we all hugged. My Dr. recommended me to an OBGYN (my regular doctor left the practice while we were undergoing treatments) and will be writing a letter to her and setting up my first appointment. I was so glad to hear this. I don't expect special treatment, but I do hope the doctor is understanding of everything we went through to get here! Okay, and I wouldn't mind a little special treatment!

I also get to stop all of my medicines. Yahoo-NO MORE SHOTS! ::sigh of relief from my boo-tay:: Well, actually a couple more shots, but there is an end in sight. I had a little bit of progesterone left over, so Dr. L said just to finish off the vial. Sunday should be THE END. I'm so thrilled, I can hardly stand it :)

Broken Record

That's what I feel like. I have nothing fun to report. I feel sick constantly; I'm exhausted; All I do is go to work and come home and hop in bed/on the sofa; Repeat. In order to NOT sound like a broken (whiny) record, I found this "Pregnancy Quiz" on another blog I read (The Heir to Blair), and decided to steal it. I'll update each week along with a picture of my baby bump! Get excited people!

How far along: 10 weeks
Total weight gain/loss: +4 lbs. (I think. Maybe. We'll see at the doctor tomorrow...)
Maternity clothes: Mainly in the Bella Band and low rise pants, but I did purchase 2 pairs of pants over the weekend. They're so comfy!
Stretch marks: No
Sleep: I wish I could all.day.long.
Best moment this week: I let the world know-via Facebook-that I was pregnant. All the responses I got were great!
Movement: None yet...unless you count gas ;)
Food cravings: I had to have a Spring Roll with spicy mustard last night. We had Chinese food for dinner. :)
Gender: I'm going with boy
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out: In
What I miss: My energy
What I am looking forward to: Feeling better soon
Weekly Wisdom: Don't worry about every little thing. God is in control.
Milestones: I'm 10 weeks pregnant!

And my first baby bump (er, bloat) picture: (please ignore how gross I look!)

9 weeks!

I know, I know-I've been a bad blogger. I just really haven't had that much going on, and every time I would go to write a post, I would find something better to do...like take a nap! I had a stomach bug last week, and believe me, stomach bug on top of morning sickness does not equal a fun time. Thankfully, that has passed, and I'm actually feeling much better! It was a beautiful weekend, so I think being able to get out in the sun helped a lot. Yay for Spring weather!!

I have discovered that I feel yuckier on mornings when I have to get up and go to work (Coincidence? I think not!). Actually, on the weekends, I can take my time getting up, have breakfast in bed, and just chill out until I'm ready to face the day. It's great! Workdays are so rushed in the morning, and I just don't think that my body enjoys being jolted out of bed and forced to get going so quickly. Oh well, I'll deal!

We got to see our little monkey again this morning!! Today at the RE was very weird. They put me in one room to pee in a cup, but said not to undress. Then, they sent me to another room for my u/s. So, I had a little bit of a wait in between. When the doc started the u/s, he was completely silent. He moved the wand around for what seemed like forever and I just sat there, my heart pounding. Jordan could see the screen (I couldn't at this point) and his face was not a happy one. I was freaking out on the inside. FINALLY, the RE said, your bladder has filled up and is blocking everything. Empty it, and we'll try again. Just a couple minutes later, with an empty bladder, we saw the baby immediately and all looked well! Can we say HEART ATTACK?! (I also may have a bladder infection. They'll call me on Wednesday with test results. Crap! My bladder is on my bad side right now!!!)

So, baby looked good and measured about 1 inch. We could see it wiggling around slightly, which is pretty cool! Heart rate was 175 bpm. I tried to scan the pic in earlier, but my scanner was acting weird. I'll try again tomorrow!
