Week 33 Pregnancy Quiz

Dear Time,

Please slow down for just a bit. I have 40-something days until this baby comes and WAY.TOO.MUCH.TO.DO.! Mom says this type of freaking out is normal. I think it is unhealthy and may cause a nervous breakdown. Ball is in your court...

Thanks so much,

Rebekah

How far along: 33weeks, 5days
Total weight gain/loss: +25
Maternity clothes: Not really. Some, but still mostly just wearing dresses and skirts to work and Jordan's t-shirts at home :)
Stretch marks: Nothing new. I think I'll be one of those whose belly just explodes at the very end, bringing with it lots of stretchies...yikes!
Sleep: Yawn...Need I say more?
Best moment this week: My 2nd shower!
Movement: He's still a pretty calm baby. A few rib kicks here and head butts in the hip, and then he's ready for a nap!
Food cravings: None. Though, I did eat a half carton of Cookies and Cream ice-cream for lunch the other day! I needed the calcium, ok??
Gender: Boy!
Labor Signs: None. Having Braxton Hicks occasionally.
Belly Button in or out: In, but I'm not sure that will last much longer!
What I miss: My sanity :/
What I am looking forward to: Having a good-bye party/baby shower at work today. Monday is my "official" last day!!!
Weekly Wisdom: Try not to get too tied up with a birth plan. I think it is important to know things don't always go as planned and not realizing this can cause a lot of unnecessary stress.
Milestones: My book says that he now keeps his eyes open while he's awake. I wonder how entertaining looking at my uterus wall is? Weird.

Baby Shower, Take 2

My wonderful friend Hollee hosted a shower for me this past weekend, and just like last time, it was great. She made some wonderful food, and I ate way too much sugar! The little monkey didn't seem to mind, though! It was a much smaller group of friends, which was nice because I actually got to talk and interact with the guests! It seemed to be a pretty busy weekend for many because several friends weren't able to make it, but it is the end of summertime and there is lots going on. I know they'll come celebrate with me when Hampton gets here, and that's what is important! :)
Here I am with the hostess and my bestest friend:
My friend, Ashley, who has cheered me on throughout. She is also newly expecting #2!!:The food. Yum!:My mom, grandmother, and me:
Hollee suggested that guests bring books for us to read the little guy. I'm reading the sweet note Ashley wrote in the book she enjoys reading with her little girl, The Kissing Hand:
Monkeys!:Great bibs! "My Dad is Cooler than your Dad" and "Spit Happens!":

I remain completely overwhelmed by the generosity of others. Our sweet baby has no idea how incredibly loved he already is, but I can guarantee there will not be a day in his life that he isn't aware of it.

Just for fun...

Never a dull moment at our house! This is what I went through last night trying to get Jordan to take my belly pic. He would not give the camera back--he just kept shooting! Some turned out funny, some pretty scary, but here they are: the good, the bad, and the ugly...

Week 32 Pregnancy Quiz

Could I *BE* carrying any lower???

Total weight gain/loss: +23
Maternity clothes: Not really
Stretch marks: On my bootay--it seems to be what is stretching the most :/
Sleep: I don't think I will ever be well rested again...Seriously, can I take a nap right now?
Best moment this week: My shower, by far
Movement: He's got some sort of new convulsing movement going on in there. Not sure about that one...
Food cravings: I pretty much hate food. All meal decisions are made at the last second and usually are chosen by Jordan.
Gender: Boy!
Labor Signs: None, but I've started having BH contrax. They scared me at first b/c I didn't know what it was, but they aren't really painful, so all is well!
Belly Button in or out: In
What I miss: Bending over without groaning. haha.
What I am looking forward to: Doctor's appointment today to check on the monkey and another shower this Sunday!
Weekly Wisdom: Japanese food is not good for heartburn and reflux. 'Nuf said.
Milestones: BH starting. I guess that is a "milestone."

First Baby Shower!

Wow! Hampton was so spoiled by friends and family on Saturday at our first baby shower! It was just so amazing and overwhelming to see how generous others were. We had wonderful food, a great time talking and laughing, and a whirlwind of gifts crammed into 2 hours, and I couldn't have asked for more! The little monkey is so loved already. I've told Jordan on multiple occasions that we are going to have to schedule in quality time with our baby!

The hostesses: Donna, Casey, and Jeanine (we couldn't get a decent picture...these will have to do!)
Awesome diaper cake that Casey's mom made!
Mom, me, and Donna: the very excited grandmoms-to-be

Opening gifts:Sweet friends:
Reading a letter about what a gift Hampton is (and crying like a baby...):

Nursery Progress

Just a few pictures of what we've added in the nursery. We still have a lot of necessities to add, but for now, I'm having fun decorating!

Week 31 Pregnancy Quiz

Stretch marks: No new ones that I can see
Sleep: Good. I've had a burst of energy this week, which has been nice b/c I have so much to do!!
Best moment this week: Getting to see the little guy again (and him passing the NST/BPP with a perfect score)

Belly Button in or out: In
What I miss: An actual wardrobe. I wear the same things over and over and over!

One Lovely Blog Award

Thanks so much to Jess and Ashely for taking the time to list my blog for the "One Lovely Blog Award"! I really appreciate it!
The "rules" of the One Lovely Blog Award are: Accept the award, post it on your blog together with the name of the person who has granted the award. Pass the award to 15 other blogs that you've newly discovered.
I'm breaking the rules... Since these girls clearly have great taste, it's no surprise that we read MANY of the same blogs! I'm just going to have to give a big "ditto." So, go check out their blogs! I know, that's uber lazy of me, but I plead "Pregnant." ;)
Thanks again girls! To all my readers, a big thank you to you as well!

Just a little update

Thanks for all the get well wishes. After spending ALL.DAY.LONG in the bed on Saturday and 11 glorious hours of sleep on Saturday night, I was feeling like a new person on Sunday. Still not 100%, but oh so much better! I'm on meds through the rest of this week, and I hope to be in great shape for my first shower this Saturday! Oh my, how exciting!!

Jordan and I headed up to the hospital for another growth scan this morning and, to our surprise, were told that we were going to be getting a biophysical profile and nonstress test. For those who don't know, the NST was just being hooked up to the monitors to watch baby's heartrate and contractions (I did have 1 real contraction, but couldn't feel it. The nurse wasn't real concerned and just stressed drinking enough water). The BPP is done by u/s and checks for movement, fluid, swallowing practice, and breathing practice. Our little monkey scored a perfect 10 out of 10, so we're happy with that! The nurse said I would be doing these tests once a week until the end of the pregnancy--another surprise. I mean, I wouldn't mind getting to see the baby every week...! I called my doctor just to check, and she won't be in until Thursday. She never mentioned this, so, I guess we'll just have to see.

The monkey was looking good today. He's got a big head. No question about it. But, really, what can I do? If my body can't get him out, they'll cut me open and pull him out. No big deal :) He is measuring right at the average weight for this time according to the u/s tech and the chart on the u/s machine, 4lbs 5oz. Good news!

Today is exactly 2 months from my due date. I can hardly wait! :)

Week 30 Pregnancy Quiz

This week has been a rough one. I haven't been feeling well since Monday, and I finally decided to visit the doctor on Wednesday when the entire right side of my face was so sore that I could barely open my mouth to talk! This was on top of a non-stop headache, throwing up, diarrhea, and just my body aching all over. Turns out I have an ear infection. These things are miserable. :( I'm glad it's Friday, and I can just lay around for the next few days and hopefully start feeling better!

How far along: 30weeks, 5days
Total weight gain/loss: +21
Maternity clothes: Thanks to my friend Melissa, who just had an adorable baby boy, I've got some dresses and shirts that should get me through!
Stretch marks: Nothing new
Sleep: More, please. Still pretty comfortable, thank goodness.
Best moment this week: By far the 3d u/s!
Movement: He's letting me know that it's getting tight in there!
Food cravings: Nothing
Gender: Boy :)
Labor Signs: None
Belly Button in or out: In, but Jordan really wants it to pop out. Not sure why...he's kind of creepy about it!
What I miss: Heels. I really love some of my sassy heels, but there is no way they'll be making an appearance this year!
What I am looking forward to: The weekend. No real plans. I just won't feel guilty for missing so much work.
Weekly Wisdom: If you aren't feeling right, call or go to the doctor. It's hard to tell if you're really sick on top of pregnancy. Better safe than sorry!
Milestones: I'm 3/4 of the way there!

3d/4d ultrasound!

We got to see the little monkey today in 3d/4d! Hampton doesn't usually like to show his face and today was really no different. After switching to laying on my right side, we were able to get some good shots. It was so incredible to be able to see in such detail this little person growing inside me!

What we know:
-He's all boy. Very first shot: Little man grabbing his junk!
-Hampton is the most chilled out baby in the world. He barely moved, even with A LOT of poking and prodding.
-Sleeping is his favorite hobby. Nothing is going to shake him from his sleep. And if you do happen to get him to wake up, you better believe he is not going to be pleased. (Just like his mom!)
-There is a strong possibility this baby will never come out. He is clearly way too comfortable with his placenta pillow and umbilical cord toy.
-Monkey's feet are big and his toes are so long! I'm contemplating taking back the adorable pair of newborn shoes we have!
-He's just adorable.
-I'm in love!

Here are some of my favorites:
