4 months!

I am so glad that I have this blog to look back and see what we were up to at month 4 with Hampton. It makes it fun to see how different they look, and how they differ weight/length wise at that point. It's hard to believe that it really wasn't that long ago that Hampton was only 4 months, but I sometimes still feel like this is my first go round with a baby. I just don't remember it all!!

As for this go round--I have a big boy. People used to tell me all the time that Hampton was such a big boy. No. No. No. Colton is a big boy! (and I wouldn't have it any other way-those cheeks and thighs-oh my! Love!!). He is 17 pounds and 25 inches. My poor back is not going to handle taking him out in the car seat much longer!

We learned at his appointment that he has his second ear infection. Ugh. This is not what I wanted to hear. We're hoping that once he gets his second round of shots, this should help him fight against things Hampton may be bringing home from school. We postponed shots for 2 weeks when we go back in to have his ear rechecked.

Colton is such a content baby. He will hang out pretty much wherever you lay him down and just kick and talk and roll around. If he's in a room where a tv is on, I've noticed that he will scoot himself around until he can see the screen. I don't think he can really see clearly yet, but I guess he likes the light. We've recently introduced the jumperoo, and he seems to love it as much as his big brother did (and still does! ha!). The activity mat and swing are also favorite spots for him to just chill. He doesn't love the bouncy seat for too long, but we'll usually sit him in there (or in the bumbo on the table) while we eat dinner. He's pretty much over his aversion to the carseat and rides happily until he falls asleep. As far as milestones go, I think this kid is going to be a competitive one! He has been rolling from stomach to back for about a month, and the day before he hit 4 months, he made it from back to stomach! He grabs on to anything he can and shakes it, puts it in his mouth or, if it is something sturdy, tries to pull himself up. His is strong! His little giggle is contagious and he smiles at everyone. He is quite the talker as well. Pretty much, life doesn't get much better for this little guy! :)

His daddy's signature half smile!
Look how big I am!
Ok. I'm done.
